Symptom and Conditions

After installing an optional Mazda Sirius Satellite radio kit, the SAT button on the radio is inop or some of the functions may not operate as stated in the Owner's Manual.

Repair Procedure: ---------------- For the 'SAT' button to be functional, the radio head (radio that came with vehicle) must have the correct SAT software installed. To check the OE radio for correct software, use the following procedure:

1. Turn radio on and volume to zero.

2. While pressing and holding the 'Audio Cont Knob', press the #1 preset button for more than two (2) seconds. Audio Control knob is the knob on the right side of radio and marked.

3. After pressing the #1 preset button for more than two (2) seconds, the software version will be displayed. If the display shows a version that is less than what is listed below for each model, then the radio head will need to be exchanged at no cost from United Radio:
