When servicing the fuel pump, use the following procedure in addition
to the Workshop manual.
Locate the two retaining clips securing the bottom part of the pump to
the tank. Using a Plastic Windshield Setting Tool (Part number IS742) -
available from Equalizer at 800-334-1334), pry each clip until the pump
is released. Pull up to release from clips, then tilt diagonally to
remove both the pump and the float arm from the tank. (Refer to
illustrations in the M-tips newsletter.)
The Workshop manual will be updated to include this section in future
editions.
