Symptom and Conditions

If during the beginning of the audio unit re-flash procedure, an error message saying ‘Timeout,push RESET’ appears, check the following possible causes:

 

  1. The Room Fuse was NOT removed before the ignition key was turned to the off position.
  2. Flashing device connector J302 was NOT installed before J301. Always install J302 first, then J301 second to the radio flash ports.
  3. If using a Dell Laptop, the Laptop may be getting too warm. Keep laptop elevated to provide air circulation.
  4. Flashing device connectors J301 and J302 may be reversed in the re-flashing ports in the audio unit.

Repair Procedure

  1. When all of the above possibilities have been checked, check the connectors inside the black box ‘Flashing Device.’ 
  2.  Remove the four (4) screws on the bottom of the box; remove the box cover.
  3. Confirm the USB port and Serial port connectors are connected and tight. See photo below:
