Symptom and Conditions

In order to improve the security function against manipulation of the odometer reading, the rewrite procedure of odometer data will be changed starting with the M-MDS B-58 release in certain vehicles. 

Repair Procedure

To enhance the Odometer Write security, a pair of passwords called "Odometer Incode" and "Odometer Outcode" will be necessary when rewriting the odometer data, after replacing with a new unit. The Odometer Incode needs to be searched and obtained from Mazda Service Support System (MS3) as well as the Incode necessary for Immobilizer related service.
